South of Merida state, Venezuela, there is a place considered by specialists to be one of the ten best places in the world to practice paragliding, an adventure sport that is one of the tourist icons of this beautiful land!

"Tierra Negra" was named, and from this place and daily, the daring pilots always take off at the end of the afternoon. They boast of the best sunsets and one of the best views of the Chama River's valley, one of the most important of the Venezuelan Andes, which ends at the Maracaibo Lake, hundreds of kilometers away from this place.

The valleys seen in the photograph are a special place for planting sugar cane. Through them runs the Pan American highway, which in the background seeks its way to the second most important city in the Mérida state, El Vigía!
